About this project

NIW Bearings organizes what is already public — USCIS filing statistics and the full text of AAO appeal decisions — into a searchable, profile-aware instrument. The goal is to let anyone considering a National Interest Waiver petition see what the actual adjudication record says about cases like theirs, before they pay anyone for an opinion.

What this site does

It codes each appeal decision by professional profile, field of endeavor, and the specific reasons the petition succeeded or failed. It maps those codes into a navigable structure — the Profile Map — so you can find cases that look like yours and read what actually decided them. The quiz produces a pattern-matched summary, not an evaluation.

What this site does not do

It does not prepare petitions. It does not evaluate your candidacy. It does not sell legal services or refer you to anyone who does. It has no affiliate relationships with immigration attorneys or consultants. Nothing on this site is legal advice.

Data integrity

Every number on this site is computed from the coded corpus or from official USCIS publications. No statistics are hand-entered. The data layer is regenerated from source on each update; the generation timestamp and methodology are linked wherever statistics appear.

AAO appeal decisions are non-precedent — they bind only the parties to that appeal. Pattern statistics are descriptive, not predictive.
